Majo Thurman is the Director Environmental, Health and Safety for Rockwell Automation Inc., where she is responsible for overseeing environmental and safety management systems, performance and global compliance. The company's headquarters provides leadership, strategy and technical resources to drive continual improvement of the organization's EHS performance; it conducts compliance audits globally as a branch of Rockwell's legal department to ensure compliance.
Ms. Thurman began her career with Rockwell Automation as an environmental engineer supporting the Milwaukee manufacturing location. In 1996, she was among the initial team that created the headquarters environmental and safety organization and has held positions of increasing responsibility within HQ environmental and safety. She has a strong background in management systems and has been instrumental in achieving and maintaining certification to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Additionally, she is the project lead for producing the Rockwell Automation Corporate Responsibility Report (www.rockwellautomation.com/about_us/responsibility.html).
Ms. Thurman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
